Sharing my new subwoofer install. Wanted a proper subwoofer setup in my 2nd gen access cab, but had the following limitations: Goose Gear seat delete meant prefab middle armrest boxes wouldn't work and wanted to keep room for an overlanding fridge. Settled on a Hertz shallow mount 10" sub MPS-250-S4 to go with my Mille Pro setup.

Removed back seat panel and added sound deadening material. Cut off two tie down points for flush surface.

Originally though I could just use a single piece of wood for the new back, but the top surface is sloped out which would have complicated enclosure building. Instead I settled on a two piece design with a top trim piece. Number of mounting point options are already available, but I limited things to M6 bolts for simplicity. Used 5/8 MDF for the build. Dimensions: top trim piece - 4.5" x 49.5", bottom wall - 17" x 49.5". Subwoofer box - 17" x 17" x 4.75" for around 0.5 ft3 air volume. Pieces constructed and painted with Duratex:

Spent a lot of time measuring everything to get bolt holes to align properly. Cut off the tabs on the pressure equalization vent and was able to bolt everything into the wall and pressed against the vent, was originally worried I have would have to trim it down.

Very happy with the overall sound quality improvement and even reclaimed some space on the passenger side.

Seems very durable but did end up with some patches with higher texture. Used their included roller.
