Hey everyone. I have a 2003 Limited. Missing both original fobs. I removed the driver kick panel and confirmed PN 89730-YY140 - RS3200. I purchased fobs BAB237131-056 to match the RS3200.

I go through the program sequence and successfully enter program mode. I hold down unlock and lock on the fob, then lock and it seems to accept the fob. The door locks and unlocks to confirm. However the key fob never works after I exist program mode.

I noticed the following. When you enter program mode, the door should lock/unlock/chirp to match the program mode you have selected. For example if you want to ERASE ALL existing remotes programmed, you need to TURN the Ignition to ON position 5 times. As you enter program mode the door should lock/unlock/chip 5 times to match. However this portion never matches up for me. The doors lock/unlock way more than its supposed to. Anyone ever seen this? I tried to erase all remotes and the doors unlocked/locked 10 times. Only weird thing I have seen which may indicate a problem. Not sure. Any input is appreciated.

Pulled vin info to confirm factory installed keyless entry as well:

    LL LIMITED PACKAGE COLOR-KEYED FR
    BUMPER,CHROME GRILLE SURROUND/DOOR
    HANDLES/ OVER FENDERS,CHROME RR
    BUMPER, PWR WINDOWS/DR
    LOCKS,MIRRORS, KEYLESS ENTRY,CRUISE
    CONTROL, LTHR WRAPPED STEERING WHEEL,
PWR DR LUMBAR TACH & TRIP METERS,AM/FM/
    CASS/CD W/6 SPKR ,A/C,DIGITAL CLOCK,SLID
    RR WINDOW,PRIVACY GLASS,LTD BADGING

    1. Enter Programming Mode – Step 4
TURN the Ignition to ON position (Do NOT crank engine) then back OFF.
      – Do this ONCE to retain existing remotes programmed and ADD NEW remote..
      – Do this TWICE to ERASE all existing remotes programmed and ADD NEW remote.
      – Do this THREE times to CHECK how many remotes are programmed to the vehicle.
      – Do this FIVE times to ERASE all existing remotes programmed.

Im having similar issue except i cN get mine to match to corresponding sequence, ie chirp and lock/unlock doors 5 times when turn key on and off 5 times. Except when i try and program the remote it wont accept it. Apparently it is supposed to just chirp and lock/ unlock doors once if the new remote is accepted and twice if it is rejected. I also made sure of the fcc id when purchasing remote. It will detect the remote whether pushing unlock or lock or the panixlc button on back but will always chirp twice and never save it. My remote doesnt have the light on the top, does yours? Supposedly some websites say the only remote that will work with dealer installed rs3200 systems are the ones with the red led on the remote.. mine does not have that light.. but some/ most websites say this remote will work.. even the people i bought it from verified the fcc id and all.. which the system sees me pushing the buttons but doesnt save.. never had a remote before and just discovered the rs3200 and speaker under the hood so figured id try..

Any help would be appreciated if you figured it out as im broke and dont want to buy a bunch of remotes that dont work.. some are charging 80$ for one but sure can find for 15$ or so..
    Anybody know anything about this?

I had the exact same issue - the remote programming returned two chirps instead of one. I had purchased the B-9-6 C05338 remote on eBay. This is NOT the correct remote. I then purchased the remote from Toyota, P/N 0819100922 for $40.25. It programmed the first time through with no issues. Works great.

which says it supposedly replaces the model number you got at toyota.. all seemed legit and like it should have worked. Even had the seller message me back and forth trying to get it to work but nada.. returning it now but thinking im gonna get the one with the toyota logo on the keyfob with that specific pn and see what happens then.. i just gotta find one with free returns.. lol. Heres to crossing my fingers n toes….

The only numbers left on the re3200 that i have are:

    89730-yy140
    237000-3121

both of which only come up with maybe one of the same units for sale but nothing with a keyfob.. not too sure on how to match the fcc id’s other than going on fcc.gov and doing a search but that usually only says what the device is and what frequency it transmits or receives based on what module the fcc id comes back to. The frequency had to have been right to communicate with the rs3200 but they all emit a certain bit signature in pulses that corresponds with the rs3200’s protocol preprogrammed per unit and will save this sequence when you show it a remote with one it likes when its in programming mode.. finding a remote that is its match is the part that i dont know how to find other than trial and error.. theres a possibility i go buy one from the dealer and that one not work.. guess im just gonna keep trying though until i get it as havent lost any money over it yet.. just time and patience.. lol

I'm having same issues on my 2003 Prerunner. The issue is trying to program replacement FOB. I ordered an aftermarket FOB BAB237131-056 with the LED. The problem I'm having is that I can go through the programming sequence which is readily available on the internet, but it won't accept the new FOB as it always beeps twice. I've tried every sequence, for example turning key on/off once, twice, three, four, five times. I'm pretty sure I'm entering programming mode because if I turn key on/off once, it beeps once, same with 2,3,4,5 ie 5 on/offs yields 5 beeps. No matter what I do, I cannot program the FOB. I had similar issues previously with a FOB I ordered without the LED. A while back I did install sound damping on the interior of doors and floor, but I'm pretty sure I got everything back OK. The red tag on my RS3200 lists 89730-YY141 and 23700-3121, but the white tag lists 89730-YY140. Perplexing to say the least.

Might be better to get a OEM fob if you're struggling with the aftermarket one. I believe I paid $32 a few years ago.

Thanks...That may work, but I'm not that confident. It's probably not worth the bother on a vehicle with 284,000 miles.
