I dig this mount from Adventure Trail Gear out of Canada. Ships fast, works well, great price, and is immediately accessible from the driver’s seat. Besides this mount, the guy makes the toughest tailgate/spare tire trash bag around. Makes the Trasharoo look like a grocery sack. 9C55BD40-8666-4A58-ADFA-597A31198F74.jpg

    For us Access Cab yahoos.
I have one in each door. Seems to work pretty OK in my '21 SR5.

I do this in the rear Driver's side door of my double cab too. Great spot, out of the way, yet easily accessible.

After watching the videos for fire extinguisher Element 5 , looks like worth getting. Small , lightweight, can be place anywhere.
Not cheap $80 The weight and the way it is made , in case of a accident or rollover this fire extinguisher will not cause any major damages, vs the metal ones.
    Even Jay Leno was impressed.

I bought one to try during car fire training at my station. Based on my experience, I recomend going with the larger size and get a couple. Personally, I was not impressed with its performance.

Thank you for sharing your experience. The Element 50 videos were impressive, last longer then those bottle fire extinguishers. Element will last up to one minutes vs bottles one at 20 seconds. ??

Hawaii is difficult to buy, must be land ship in special containers. One dealer mention approx $104 each. I may get two? Element five had NO expiration date. Small , light weight, easy to store.
Plus NO damages to engine , if engine fires vs bottle fire extinguishers., you can breathe the smoke out of the element 50.
They do make a model 100 which is bigger.

I made a mount and put it in the bed close to the cab on the driver side… gets me out of the vehicle first in case something is wrong (i.e. burning).

Mounting outside of any vehicle is a great idea. I would be a bit worried if one should park in public parking areas. Fire extinguisher if visible makes a good target to be stolen.

it looks cool when visible. Sure you can always removed them when park.

One review that mentions that person he was not impressed by Element 50. Watching the element 5 video’s shows other story.
Still it is better to have some kind of fire extinguisher, then not at all. Element 5 will last a life time vs the bottle fire extinguisher.

+1 for the double cab cargo cubby behind the rear seats. Not as cool as mounting somewhere in the cab but it fits perfectly in the little side spot.

Yep, almost like it was designed to hold one. As soon as I saw that cubby, I thought "I know what's going there"!

That is a great place for a fire extinguisher. Hidden behind the back seat. Toyota did a great design for storage space behind the back seat and under the seat. Thumbs up here!

This is where I installed mine. Fits perfectly and clears the door when closed.

My thought was that I want it to be accessible quickly but out of the way. The only issue I have is when moving the seat all the way back it scraps the trim on the bottom of the B-pillar.

OK this is my advice, I am a Fire Marshal, so I have seen the worst of things,...
The 2 1/2 lb "small" extinguisher with no hose will last 3-5 sec and you cannot tilt it (just like a spray paint can) or it will not work...... not a good choice.
A 5-10 lb will have a hose and will last 8-10 sec (5lb) 20-25 sec (10lb) you can direct the powder with the hose at angles...... good choice.
Both 5 or 10 lbs will fit behind the drivers rear seat no problem.... great spot.

Note; accidental discharge inside the vehicle WILL cause major visibility (you cant see) and breathing issues (you cant breath).
    Make sure it is secure!

Just because the gauge says green or good pressure, may not be true. Many have leaked pressure over time and the gauge is stuck.
Appling air pressure to the small hole in the center of the gauge (some holes are covered with a foil stick shaped in a circle)
Extinguishers are usually 195 psi,.. so adding 100 psi with a rubber tipped nozzle (rubber makes a seal on the gauge hole) should bring the gauge pressure down to 95 psi.
If you put 195 on the hole side (outside of gauge) it will bring the gauge to 0 psi. The gauge is being equalized. This is how to test the gauge.

Vehicles have between 600-900 lbs of plastic and foam or flammable material including rubber. It will become fully involved in minutes.
You have seconds to get the insipient stage (beginning stage) fire out, or the extinguisher will be useless.

    Have a safe day!

Element 5 Please watch a few videos. Form your own opinion. Watch a few videos on your brand , see how long they last in a fire and self life.

Buy whatever makes you sleep better at night. Ultimately if it's going to burn, it will be totaled.
