    I think it was just one of those aesthetic phases they went through back when step sides were more popular, I don't think it worked out well for Toyota though, probably why they only did it for a short while.

    Would be a great place to mount accessories. Rotopax, traction boards, fuel cans high lift, propane tank, roof lader for the cap.

    I use to see a good number of Fords, I think Toyota set out to build an F-150 with the 1st gen Tundra.

    definitely, the 1st gen Tundra's interior looked a lot like the F-150s of the same era

    The squarer body shape lends itself better to the step side look imo, probably why I like it so much on the 1st gen Tacomas but not on those more rounded Tundras

    1st gen Tacoma is the best looking step side out there.
