So after hours there they couldn’t figure it out. Said they were either broken or they put an after market sensor in and discount tire didn’t tell me.

I didn’t have them take the tire off since they said their machine was broke and they didn’t want to risk scratching my wheels. Even though Toyota probably wouldn’t have told me this if it wasn’t for me mentioning I didn’t want my wheels messed up.

so I’m taking it next week to a Toyota tech who does the local work for most off road trucks here in NC.

they also told me it looked like I had slight cupping in my tires. Which are basically brand new.

is this from balancing more than likely?

I replaced my stock tires about a month after I bought my truck, and my screen wouldn’t read the pressures after resetting either. The tire shop re-used my OEM sensors and I thought they must have damaged them too. I reset the system several times and drove about 30-60 minutes after each reset, and finally gave up. About 3 or 4 days later, I remember I had to drive to my sister’s house which is about 2 hours away and by the time I got there I noticed my screen was magically reading the pressures again. Not sure why it took so much longer than it should have, but it did. I’ve since rotated the tires 3 times with resets after each, and the pressure had read within about 5 min each time since. So maybe the OP’s will just start working after a nice long drive like mine did.

So the same thing happened when I got some tires at Discount as well. No lights but no read out on the dash for psi. I hit a button and drove around a bunch. Was just about the go back after a few days and I jumped on the interstate and got it up to 70mph for 20 mins and as I gave up and took an exit it came back on. Has worked fine ever since. It was in colder weather but I never figured it out. I'd try some extended speed runs first. It might not be anything Discount did.

Thanks for sharing. What’s weird is
It wasn’t auto locating at first.

    Then they manually reset

After it sat for a while then it couldn’t decide on a wheel he said

It said it was reading multiple sync counts on each wheel which he said was strange

The trip home was on the interstate but I can give it a go again for sure.
