    Morning Everyone.

Both of my headlight assemblies have collected a lot of moisture/standing water and now my bulbs are out. I want to change the headlight assemblies, so I decided to replace my burned out fog light bulbs until I can get new headlight assemblies in. I usually only drive in the daylight, but this needs to be fixed. I'll be drilling into the bottom of the existing headlight assemblies to drain the moisture.

I replaced my fog light bulbs, and they are not turning on. Is there an order of operations that allow the fog lights to operate? If my headlights are fried, will this prevent the fog lights from working? Looking for a few areas to check and see where the issue is. I'm not sure where to begin.

    Regards,
    Stellar Taco

The headlights have to be on Low for the fog lights to work.
If that doesn’t do it. Check the Fog fuse and the headlight LO Right Side fuse. That fuse powers the control for the fog relay. If those are good, unplug the fog lights and check for power there.

If you're needing the fog lights quick, do the fog light anytime mod.

As long as the headlight fuse is good and has power, the headlights can be out and the fog lights will still work. I mean, if the Right Side low fuse is blowing. Than sure, bypass it with the mod. If the right side HL fuse has power with the switch on, OP has other issues.

OP will still have to figure out the headlight situation. So why not figure it out now?

Not saying your idea is bad. But I’d rather figure it out now. I hate working on things 2x.

That's why I said if he's needing lights quick. I agree, he needs to check the fuses/relays and get it fixed and be done with it, but if it's going to be a week or more before the new assemblies arrive why not go ahead and have fog lights.

@StellarTaco A quick way to remove some of the moisture in the headlight is to take the bulbs out and use a hair dryer and blow warm air into them.

I checked both fuses and both were fine.
How do I check for power at the bulb? I'm assuming I need to use some sort of device to check?

    Multi-meter. Are the connections corroded?

Just looking at the fuses won't tell if there good.you need a multi meter that can check Contenuity.

I didn't notice any corrosion on the fuses.

Voltage Meter or Test Light is needed.

The fuses have continuity. I guess I'll check at the bulb female wire for voltage, now.
