Let us know if that fixes you up. Mine was making a low moaning sound. It sounded exactly like a power steering pump low on fluid. It wound up being my alternator. I don’t think it was the bearing in the alternator though. Just unplugging the alternator eliminated the sound. I just swapped it out for a new one.

The free bearing are not the alternator bearing sorry, they are for the lower idler belt tension pulley. those are the extra ones I bought. If you would like one of those they are the ones I have available.

LOL, misread your message. Okay I've replaced my idler bearing so no need there, I'm sure someone else will take you up on it!

Road tested and after the lower idler bearing was changed, oddly the noise level was lowered but it is still there. I have the alternator bearings now and am going to to replace them next. I was having to listen a little harder to hear the noise. That bearing might have been contributing some whine as it had a little play in it when I removed it. Maybe after 240,000 miles several components are worn out. I will post again after the alternator bearings are changed. Hey,"learning to fly" that is what is sounds like, low moaning sound, even lower since I changed the idler bearing. In the beginning I thought it was the power steering pump but with the stethoscope it sounded like the alternator.

Did you try unplugging the alternator and running it temporarily?

I'll try unplugging the alternator tomorrow. I was going to change the bearings out tomorrow so I will do as you said first before I take it off and apart.

Changed the alternator bearings out and the brush assembly>still no joy. Changing and cleaning the power steering fluid today, will see if that makes any difference.

Good call! A clogged reservoir screen can starve the pump causing it to squeal. That video is an excellent guide on cleaning it up. And the "light" check on the reservoir screen will demonstrate the effectiveness of the procedure.
