My truck is pretty damn gutless at high elevation (7,000 ft+) stock, would a 2 in. lift and 33/35's really put a nail in the coffin?

I know it would need to be re-geared but not sure if going with a V6 would just be the smarter choice at that point?

I live at sea level where the 2.7 is fine but tend to off-road in higher elevations most of the time.

LCE header will drop the peak torque band down about 1k rpms I've been told..pedal commander that reprograms the pedal response makes a world of difference too.. the 2.7L is a higher rpm engine that likes to be in the 4k to 5k rpm range for peak torque..it's only 80 lbs of torque difference between the 3.5L V6 and the 2.7L 4 cylinder engine..the 2nd charcoal filter riveted in the top of the air box really chokes the air flow..check the air filter box and look in the top half to locate it..best mod plus a heavy foot..the 2.7L is used in mini buses else where around the world up to 15 passengers etc so it can handle the use that's not abuse to use it with a heavy foot.. tow capacity outside of the USA is 5,500 lbs but in the USA the dot limits it to 3,500 lbs..

K&N 63 series CAI, AVS Vent Visors, 16x8 Level 8 MK6 Rims, 285/75/16 MT, Eibach Pro lift, JBA UCAs, Wheelers 3leaf AAL, DV8 skidplate, Westin bedmat, Backrack, swaybar delete, Magnaflow cat-back, 9Drive throttle controller, 2LO Mod, Cali Raised Rock Sliders, Tyger rear bumper, Chinese Body Armor front bumper clone, 10K pound Winch, Smoked headlights, LED Bulbs.
Im on stock gears still..and lifted. Also have bumpers, sliders, skidplates for added weight.

yes it will hurt the power and performance. You need to be prepared for that.

K&N cold air intake, magnaflow catback exhaust, and a cheap throttle controller helped to regain some of the pep i had lost.

my truck is not a daily driver anymore either, more of a toy now. I have a car for the daily drive.
