ipod adapter but no am/sat button

I have a 2008 tacoma sport and i just bought a ipod adapter from best buy not realizing that having a radio that had an AM/SAT button was a requirement for it to work. is there any way i can get it to work without?
i dont want to have to take it back.

its a peripheral simple gateway. hd radio and ipod interface.

 

with my ipod adapter you just push the disc button to go to the aux input. then push it again for the regular cd player

 

yeah thats what i figured. i looked everywhere online and they all said the same thing. ill just take it back and order the garm one that works with the disk button.

 

haha yeah that one. it looks like its killer simple. i just dont want to have to order it. im tired of my stupid fm transmitter sounding like balls.

 

I just picked up a bluetooth streamer to plug into my aux jack. Works like a charm.

Did the pa15-toy on the wife's car. Controls for the ipod are lacking enough where the aux is passable.
THe bluetooth seems louder than the aux jack did, but that might be my phone, vs the bluetooth amplifying it.

 

Which bluetooth did you go with?

I have the USA SPEC PA15-Toy in my truck and my wife has SYNC in her Fusion. The SYNC/Fusion is louder, but it's louder in general. I will probably stick with the PA15 for the charging capability, but it would be nice to have a bluetooth to put in rentals and work vehicles.

yeah bro I got one. Well technically not yet. I placed an order for one, it is supposed to be produced next month sometime.

 

After a bunch of searching I could only find one dongle that wouldn't need to be re-paired each time (at least with my phone). The blackberry one. Drawback is, it needs to be powered. No battery. No big deal. But works like a charm. Turn on pandora, turn on the key, about 3-10 seconds later its out the speakers.
And it is definitely louder than using my phone's aux jack.
