Just completed imogone pass, been to telluride and ourray before to camp but never did imogone pass so I wasn't sure how the 2.7 would do at the peak, was in 4lo 1st gear most of the way up (did the trail from telluride to ourray side). I have an arb rear locker but never even had to use the locker and it was raining with thunderstorms the entire day which had me concerned but I think it worked out to my advantage because the trail wasn't crazy busy. If you 2.7 guys are considering doing the trail I highly recommend it! One of the most beautiful scenic trails you will ever do.

With the right tires a 2.7 will get you to a lot of places. Great pics, thanks for posting

Off road the 2.7 isn't handicapped at all. If anything, it could be an advantage. But the V6 will run faster on the road, tow a lot more, and doesn't get enough worse fuel mileage to matter.

No definitely the 2.7 can go anywhere, my biggest concern was the elevation. I was camping at elevations around 11k and the peak of imogene is over 13k feet, I live in socal at near sea level and the baby taco struggles at even the site of a mole hill here lol. Did moab as well and there are a few hills in utah, she definitely won't win any races but the 2.7 didn't let me down at all

I live in S.CA too, having the A/C on and going up a hill is like towing a 10,000 lb trailer. I least you got the skinny Tacoma before Toyota decided to tack on a 1000 lbs
