I have a 2008 TRD Sport. How do I determine if I have the "Tow Package"? I have a class 4 tow hitch and a 7 pin light connector. Don't know how to tell if I have a Transmission cooler, Supplemental engine engine cooler, 130A alternator, battery is after market so I don't know if it is Heavy Duty. I have looked through the owners manual etc and still can't figure it out.

    Any help will be appreciated

    Terry

Look behind the grill and see if there is a really small radiator looking thing in front of the AC condenser.

You will have oil lines coming from the oil filter mount. And you have a 130 amp alt

Have you run your VIN on Toyota.com? Their owners tools there will tell you how your truck was equipped when built.

Thanks everyone for your help. It appears that my Tacoma IS equipped with the towing package. I attempted to run the VIN on Toyota.com but found nothing except a rear suspension recall/safety notice.
I'm surprised that the additional towing package isn't better advertised or at least easier to determine. Seem like an additional selling point.

    Thanks again for the help

You might not have gotten to the right page, @71Shovelhead. I don't have the exact link in front of me, but when you get to it you'll be able to download a printout that looks like this. Worth having for a truck's archive file, IMO.

    4xdog,
That would be valuable information to have. I will broaden my search for it.

    Thank you,
    Terry

    4xdog,
Thank you for the link. I now have been able to confirm via MOCO records that my Tacoma in fact does have the tow package.
Thanks everyone that responded. Great community here.
