I’ve been looking. Crazy money for trade vehicles right now. $3-$4k over what I bought the truck for.

Beer & bowling have been occupying a ton of time.

Camping coming up next weekend, and I'm going through my gear. Somebody mentioned a few pages back that radios are a good thing to have along for the Pipeline outing in a few weeks. I have a set of these from a few years ago that I think I've used once. Can someone confirm that these will play nicely with yours? The rechargeable AA batteries are not holding a charge any longer, so I just ordered up some fresh ones.

Did some more reconnaissance for the Applefest outing. This time I focused on the Moquah Barrens. Found a new to me lake-Horseshoe Lake. Beautiful, with an amazing camp right on the shore. Not large group accessible but one I will go back to with the wife. Also has a horse trail all the way around the larger natural area. Had a chance to try the saw and move a couple of large trees that were down.

Wife got a chuckle out of me cutting that beast with a little 12" saw... but it got the job done. She also commented that the only way to get challenging roads was to get "scratchy". Just beautiful open dirt roads up there unless one is willing to get some pinstripping. Did get a shot of what the pine barrens look like though-open and sandy. More looking to be done...

What saw are you using? My buddy has the Milwaukee M18 saw and I have the M18 pole saw and we've made quick work of a lot of trees as a team up at his property the last couple of years. I think his saw is 16" though.

I'm also a definite maybe for the 9th, but I wouldn't get there until later, like 6-6:30.

Should be good to go with those radios. If there are issues a few of us usually have a spare handheld.

    My schedule is fluid Mon-Thur.

    I should still make it

Oh there will be some mods all right
It's an extremely love or hate tool. I must admit I think a lot of the hate come from people who work in the woods for a living and expect it to keep up with a $1,800 work saw. In my own personal experience I think it's great, and if venturing far away from cell phone reception and the beaten path it is a must to bring along.
