I think my wife has realized that the more I add to this truck and make it my own the less likely I am to trade it in after 3 years, which was my usual M.O. and drove her crazy. Unless it's something unusually expensive she's pretty much ok with what I buy. She's no stranger to packages showing up at the door either :) If it's on the expensive side it's discussed before I buy, like with my wheels, and she does the same. To her any vehicle is just transportation - as long as it's clean and reliable she could care less about it. We will never see eye to eye this one, just like we will never see eye to eye on her love of jewelry :)

Play the macho man all you want, but if there's anything my 65 years have taught me is that relationships are a lesson in the art of compromise. Try the "I'm the man and I'm in charge" route and see what happens LOL

Yup you're in charge...because she lets you be :) Sort of ironic that in order to qualify as "head of household" IRS says you have to be unmarried. Something to think about :)

Definitely not the case. Glad I’m not in your situation. Genuinely. My comment had nothing to do with the IRS but sad you are so emasculated you make excuses for it. Ouch.

Whatever works for you and yours. Everyone's relationship is unique and only you know what works for the two of you. For me I'm happy treating my wife as an equal and making major decisions jointly, and I don't think that makes me any less of a man. If I was unhappy I'd leave and have the ex wife to prove that I'd do it if necessary lol. The IRS comment was meant to be funny, not to be an excuse, as was my "you're in charge because she lets you be" comment.

My wife asked me if i wanted sliders for my birthday and i yelled at her and called her cheap " that's all you're willing to spend on me" I said, " I don't even like white castle!!"
I realize now what she meant after reading this thread and the divorce has been finalized.

You have to be careful with this one. Don't give her any ideas before she throws out "well how many triggers can the finger pull at once" Tread-lightly.

And I do realize this a 3 year old post. I vote to place this post within the TacomaWorld best of vault.

Meanwhile my wife is over here trying to talk herself out of a $55 dress the day after I order gears/lockers, a suppressor and tax stamp.
And she puts the seat up for me. Damn, I might be dating a dude.

You all need to watch this.

Every relationship I ever had failed for the same reason........I thought I had found the perfect intersection of hot + crazy. It turns out though, I always dramatically underestimate the crazy. It is like an iceberg, you are lucky if you see 10% of it (before a relationship begins).
