I’m new, own a 2011 Tacoma, 4.0, auto 4X4, about 70 k on it. Seem to notice a lot of angst about oil, type of oil, interval and fluids generally. My game plan? Do my own service, 5w30 synthetic oil changes religiously every 5 k. gear fluids always at least 5 k ahead of schedule, same for plugs, air, cabin filters when they need it, regardless of miles. Guess this could be a little expensive if you pay for it. I do my own service so kind of live by “fluids are cheap, repairs are expensive. Mods to my truck? Pedal Commander trans tuner, K&N cold air intake, stainless cat back free flow exhaust. Truck now 11 years old, many think it’s new. Maybe 30 years owning an auto detail biz is paying off. My other Toyota 4wd might be a collectible. It’s a 1979 4wd , the first year Toyota offered a 4wd in this country. Body #00833. Bought it brand new, paid for it before it was off the truck at the dealer. Owned it in my 20’s, 30’s,40’s, 50’s,60’s and now 70’s. Has about 180k miles on it, runs sweet. I’ll die with that truck but am naturally curious if it has any value. Think I’ve satisfied the definition of TMI here. Always interested in thoughts to increase power, gas mileage….thoughtfully. Be well all. AB

Thanks, was a vw guy before toyota. They’ve given almost 45 years of good 4wd service in a place that can get 650 inches of snow per winter. Be well
