    Escaped the heat this weekend with a trip to the Oregon coast. It’s about 40 degrees cooler here which is awesome. Played on the beach and checked out the tide pool this evening.

    But after we arrived here around noon we got a call to say that our house was on evacuation notice for a wildfire that’s burning outside of town and we are 4 hours away. Started Friday afternoon and has blown up to over 30000 acres as of now. Huge amount of smoke and it looks like it’s snowing with the ash. Fortunately my dad, brother and brother in law were able to go to the house and clear most everything on importance out and took it to a safe place. We will be watching it tonight and deciding if we will head home or not. Definitely not a good feeling to be far from home and not be able to see it first hand. Thankful for the family to step up and get it done even with being on evacuation order themselves.

    Sorry to hear that. I've got relatives in Mariposa, CA holding down their own properties from the Oak Fire. The smokes been pretty bad, but thankfully it's around 52% contained currently. Oregon Coast looks nice; Reminds me of the Goonies.
