Check out all trails for Julian, CA. I grew up in RB and we used to take Highland Valley road from Pomerado and head to Ramona then head up into the mountains in Julian stopping for Apple Pie of course. Haven't been back in years so I'm not sure how much has changed. Palomar Divide Road looks pretty cool. On a separate trip, go have some mini mortaditas at El Indio off N Washington overlooking the airport for those of us who cannot.

Always Jacoma which is south near the border, I used to jeep down there and there's more than a few clubs who go down that way.

Not in north county, but check out Valley of the Moon in Jacumba. It’s about an hour and a half drive to get there off the I8 and its pretty fun out there. Google it!

Also, do you use AllTrails or any other trail GPS app? They have plenty of spots too.
