    4x4 33x12.50 3.91 gears
5 speed manual sitting at 225k
    Clutch replaced at 184k

I purchased this truck at 155k miles; at the time of purchase, the rear end would click only while making turns. Drove great going straight or aside from that, including off-road. Back in December 2021 at 220k miles the rear diff finally decided to leave the chat :rocket::burnrubber:. Through recommendation I had my 3rd member rebuilt by East Coast Gear Supply in fairly quick timing(Even learned that my truck has a locker!!). Once I got the 3rd member back From ECGS, it was installed and filled with 85-140 Lucas Non Synthetic Diff Fluid as specified by the East Coast Gear manual. Unfortunately for me, the noises persisted :help: About 2 weeks back, my clutch pedal hit the floor and I thought I had managed to drive the truck until it broke. New master cylinder installed and my clutch was back but even then, the clicking persists :(. My U-joints are greased, I went a little over board with the grease gun xD. Not sure where to look, just drained the diff from the 500 mile break in period and nothing looked abnormal...

I am attaching a 10-15 second clip, you can really hear the noise in particular about halfway through: https://streamable.com/3xp393

:confused: Any suggestions/tips would be greatly appreciated

Edit to say the shocks are new as well in rear. Trying to go over everything and not break my bank

My phone audio sucks so I'm not much help there.

But....Have you put it on Jack stands and let it run? That can help determine if it's something drive line related.

Also check your wheels, if the lugs are loose it can sound like what your describing.

I have run the rear with it up on jack stands, the shop I use also ran it up on the lift without issues  I've got an appointment booked up for this coming Thursday at a local 4x4 shop to see if they have any thoughts... It's just confounding me where this noise could possibly be coming from. Truck drives great aside from the noises

can you tell where the sound is coming from? Front back left right engine bay? Does it only happen when accelerating?

Wheel bearings can sound like that. Even though you ran it up on jackstands and on the rack- there wouldn't be the vehicle weight on the wheels/bearings. Just a thought.

Any associated vibrations? What is the condition of your carrier bearing? All Ubolt hardware nice and tight?

It sounds like its coming from under neath the rear seats/near the transmission  Have had no issues driving, shifting or under heavy load. Just that damn click! I tried rolling through a parking lot in neutral and it sounded money. However; there are times when I pull into the neighborhood in neutral and the clicking resumes... So in short, happens sporadically in neutral, under acceleration, and while engine breaking

Vibrations are there as they've been for the 4-5 years I've owned this truck xD. Driveshaft was replaced about 1.5 years ago, U-Joints done in the last 6 months. I believe my Driveshaft angles are correct, I write off the vibrations as part of owning a lifted tacoma lol

Thank you for this reply! I will have to check into the wheel bearings, this would make sense. It is more of a Click than a drone noise that I am trying to fix
