I'm lucky to still have the survey stakes from the past. They seem to be spot on compared to the lines shown on the map.

I'm also lucky to have a vacant lot to the west of me that the present owner has no desire to sell or develope...

I do get all the leaves from that lot, though.

No biggie, I just dump them back there and maybe a few of my own may get included in the mix.

The whole situation is a little fuzzy. My land was part of the old homestead for the family that they divided a small section off for the house I'm in in 1965. Some of the plants/shrubbery are half over the proposed line and even the septic line is 30' into the other property. Like they didn't even care back then. Well now that deaths and sicknesses are happening stuff is getting sold off and everybody is confused. Luckily for me I know the person who wants to buy the property beside/behind me (neighbor back that lane) and is willing to sell me an acre. If not, I gotta do some digging to get my drain field re-routed... Either way it's gonna be expensive :annoyed:

    re: the poll

currently nothing but I've been contemplating a tanno to keep the bed dryish for small transport
just can't decide soft or hard
soft: cheaper, easy to take off for large items
hard: more money and might interfere with larger items (I am still looking for a few special pieces of furniture)

    Tundra has a Soft Topper.

1 Tacoma is open with nothing and 1 Tacoma has a bed tool box...with road rash where it slid on its side down 26th avenue in Grand Rapids during an ice storm.

    Re the poll.

I used to be against anything over the bed. Bought a camper shell for my 07 tacoma when child 2 was on the way. When I sold that and bought a tundra it had a shell on as well. Current chevy has a shell. Also has a bedslide so I don’t have to crawl up in the bed all the time to get stuff that goes towards the front. Been super handy and won’t have another truck without a shell.

Property lines and deeds are very interesting…

I had a property where the driveway clipped the corner of an adjacent property. The previous owner went nuclear with all sorts of lawsuits claiming right of way and the time he’d been using it. He lost. Long story short - attached to the deed was a Court order mandating a $1,000,000 liability insurance on the approximately 50 square feet to cover the adjacent property owners.

My property did have a ROW from the next street over that clipped the corner of that neighbor’s house and the front stairs of another adjacent property. I was all set to go nuclear myself to enforce my property’s ROW but my wife talked me off the ledge. (That second property sold and the people torn down a really nice beach house to build a hideous monstrosity that ruined the view from my property.). We ended up selling because of the impact of the new build on our property.

Found all sorts funky things going on with the surrounding subdivisions, roads and ROWs.

Here’s to hoping your deeds are free and clear of all incursions

My parents driveway is shared with a house on the end of their driveway. Growing up, Clyde had a fat pine tree at the end of the driveway in his yard. At about 20 years old I thought it was a great idea to trim it back so I wouldn't have to stop to see if cars were coming to pull out. So I gave it a major trim job on the road side to about head high. It was ugly as all get out.

I came home from work the next day and Clyde was beyond mad. I had never seen the man raise his voice but he chewed me up one side and down the other and threw up his hands and said "just cut the whole tree down".

So I did. It was easy to see after that. About a month later his grandson said to me "it looks so much better with that tree gone" :anonymous:

    Hi crew, been busy like:goingcrazy:lately
Hope everyone has been doing well.
Lots of outage preparation work. Work that gets frustrating year after year because others won't get out of their chairs to provide me the details.

Poll: Toolbox. I need to modify the one I have to fit between my LT shock towers. I have a design drawn up but I need a tube bender to build the bed cage it'll sit in and then I gotta shorten the width it about 2 ft so I can mount my spare upright behind the driver side.

The only problem with it was I couldn't keep the engine temp down. Had two electric fans on it. I couldn't put the fan on the water pump, didn't have enough room. I didn't take a single picture of the engine in that truck :frusty:
