    That’ll be unique to each set up and truck. Won’t know until you cycle everything and see what binds or bottoms out first. FWIW I spaced mine down 1/4” since I was putting a divot in the cup on hard hits. Without hydros it’s kind of hard to tell where the hard stop will be. They say the puck in the super bumps or they compress to stock height, but that still leaves a little room for interpretation.

    I added a bit to my original post. For most I think the upper ball joint is the limiting factor on uptravel. It is for me at least.

    just by how my LCA was moving on the bump ysterday im probably going to space down 3/8 of an inch. But ill wait until i can confirm everything. coils and CV say supposed to be here tom so ill have to verify then.

    Hes talking about marlin crawlers air suspension. It uses air pressure supplied to a cylinder, similar to a bypass shock, to either add spring rate or decrease spring rate. Its controlled though a set of soleniods and switches. Its a cool concept but rarely useful in real world application and its more for parking lot shows.

    In theory, that setup is really cool but if it breaks on the trail and you are stuck all the way up or down I could see it being more headache than it is worth.

    I dunno how much it cost him but when you got that kind of money I don't think it matters.

    If his truck broke he could walk away from it and never touch it again and it wouldn't be anything but a write off.

    Their RCLT kit was touted to be "reasonably priced" when it was in development and last I checked it would be 14k if you did all the installation yourself and reused what little you can so I think they're just out of touch at this point.

    I could be wrong but it appears it’s just a secondary thing so if it failed, it would just have no air in them and it would function as a normal poor persons truck.

    I am jelly of the TacoBox. But ya know, his for the manual was a complete " One Off" no plans for making them for the manual. So, theres that. Plus even the auto guys are waiting longer than for a RCLT for a Tacobox.

    Looking at the pictures further it seems you are mostly correct. It looks like they are longer air cylinders. He is probably using multiple valves so they can stay open to not affect ride and then pressurize either side of the canister to apply the appropriate pressure. If a valve fails worst case you have an air leak or have to disable the system and could disconnect the lines to let it operate in an open configuration. Either way it's not likely to be a product that see's production.

    If you price out different LT kit + fabricated spindles, double sheer, steering upgrade and new shocks. You wont be far off from what marlin is.
    5-10k per corner of the vehicle is usually what your gonna spend for a bullet proof system.

    Im over 7k into my front suspension and steering and im still oem lower control arms.

    Forced articulation is kinda niche, but it's basically a hydraulic (or pnuematic) ram that forces the suspension to compress or extend. In theory it sounds awesome especially if you were on an off camber section and you could manually adjust roll. But I'm not sure many people run it. It's not legal in most race settings so there's not been a lot of experimentation. Big Mike's (Marlin Crawler) 3rd gen has it and it's pretty neat. But it's also a heavy system to add. If someone engineered a way to apply pressure to an existing shock with an air system, or some specialize remote reservoir, that'd be cool, but again a niche market. Pure rock crawlers also sometimes use 'suck down' winches that forcefully compresses the suspension by using a winch attached to a solid axle, but that's a one way system. From what I can tell, you want it to drop out fully and suck up fully on the opposite side. You can try to achieve this with sway bars to some degree I guess as others mentioned. Personally, I think sway bars limit articulation and so aren't on the table for me.
