Hey y’all! I’m new to this and have a few questions on how to properly mod my 2013 Tacoma.

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking of lifting the truck the most cost efficient way as possible and I’ve been led to purchasing a leveling kit. I would like to put Highway tires as I never really go off-roading, and I would also like to put bigger tires/rims. My question is how many inches should I go with the leveling kit and how big can my tires/rims be?

Also since I’m new please provide extra tips on things I should know like what tires/rims would look stylish with good performance as well, thanks guys!

    Welcome!
A leveling kit typically just means lifting the front of the truck. I wouldn't go over 1" or you'll be going into Carolina squat territory. I personally would avoid leveling kits all together because if you put anything in the bed your truck will be doing the squat.

As for tires 265/75r16 or 265/70r17. Bigger and you'll (most likely) need to do some cutting.

    Thanks for the reply!

Honestly I’m not too worried about the squat when putting things in my bed which I don’t usually do unless I’m moving to another location. I’m mainly focused on lifting the truck for looks.

Don't forget to adjust your headlights back down a bit as to not blind oncoming traffic after the lift.

I would consider Bilstein 5100s. The ride is way better and you can set them to different heights, including the front level you mention. For tires I would look at a 265 or 285. Lots of info on the forum to be found by searching and reading up for a bit. Good luck with your mods!

You can do 2” in front and 1” block in the rear. And mount some 265-70-17 tires. I would suggest Michelin ltx at2. Great tires. Highway with some off road capabilities.
