Look at the latch assembly, there are 2 metal pieces that wrap around the striker on the door post. These should be in the open position. Compare them to the drivers door. If they are in the latched position then operate the door release handle to unlatch them.

If they are unlatched, try to latch them with a small bar. They should latch easily with steady pressure. Unlatch then with the door release handle. They should open easily.

If they are stiff, then spray some lubricant in there. Try cycling them open a closed and spray some more lubricant into the mechanism. If it frees up then try closing the door again.

If the door still isn't latching and the latch mechanism is working correctly, then look to see that the striker and latch are lined up correctly. The striker is adjustable to provide seal tightness and door alignment when shut.

Lastly, if all this checks out, make sure you don't have something stuck between the door and the body, preventing the door from latching, like the seat belt or floor mat...

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Profile says '02...are the door hinges worn? Can you lift the door up any from the edge furthest from the hinges?

    Pics/vid can be a help.

Does it just bounce back? You can move the lock ad it will stay closed until you manually reset it... First thing I would check. Maybe a little more info would also help then doesn't close....
