Saw it in the zr2 today and really liked the look. Plus I can put some light on it.

That's actually a "roll bar". Headache racks have some sort of material that covers the rear window to prevent items from going through it and smacking you in the head.
Edit: some also call that a "Sport Bar".

The one pictured is a ZR2 specific piece, it has ZR2 lazer cut in the bottom. I think it was part of a pkg, that includes the lights. Or it was a GM factory accessory.

The problems is the light is so far back, its good for long distance but it ends up wasting light against the roof of the truck.

We call them Saskatchewan spoilers here.

Yeah it looks cool, ties the truck together nicely.

The only downside is, it can get in the way of using the bed. I'd get one of those narrow tool boxes, and upgrade the factory fogs to some high performance LED, or a bed rack or bed bars.

I have led fogs although don't really need them here in Texas where I'm at. Been thinking about a softopper or something for the back kind of just spit balling right now

Which toolbox you talking about? Would love a way to keep a drill and things of the sort without having to worry about someone ripping them off

UWS used to make an across the bed rail box, that was didn't take up as much room as a traditional size box. Other manufacturers might make a similar style. You could also get a chest style box that sits in the bed. That could probably work with one of those sport bars.
