So I've made it this far on TW and feel like I need to contribute a wtf moment I'm sure you guys will get a laugh.

Needed to transport a few 16 feet gutters for a backyard gazebo project im working on. We were expecting a rain storm that came sooner than I anticipated so I rushed to get home, but it started raining before I could make the 10 min trek home. So, good news is my gutters did their job, bad news is my pitch was wrong so when I braked, some rain made its way into my cabin and dribbled down near my front windshield and vents. I thankfully had a towel that diverted some of the rain water into the passenger floor but... Question is... Should I worry about the maybe 8 to 16 oz of water thst may have ran down the front of the dash? Or just have a drink and call it an afternoon... Pic attached for your viewing pleasure....

As everyone is well aware water is highly corrosive your dash will begin to cave in within the week and the wiring will start to short out I give your truck 10 days till sudden spontaneous combustion leading to totally disintegration.

You're more than likely fine. Most of the electrical stuff in the truck is insulated so a small amount of water won't matter.

I would be concerned. Not worried, but concerned. I had an issue with an improperly installed roof rack; every now and then after a heavy rain, I would see a couple of tablespoons full of water on the passenger-side floor mat. One day the whole dash lit up like a Christmas tree and the anti-theft system locked the vehicle down. Water had got in to a connector and caused corrosion which in turn caused the problem. Easily enough solved, but still a PIA.

Suggestion: Next transport carry the gutters bottom side up.

thanks for sharing. I think a one time splash won't affect any connectors.

I considered that when it was raining but those damn edges were so sharp I was afraid it would cut up the dash and or rear seat

    Not a California problem…o_O

    JK!!

OP: Just dry it out using the defrost and/or leaving the windows open, rainwater is pretty clean stuff and definitely doesn’t have any salt in it so you should be fine.
