Extending new bilsteins to replace rear shocks

Wow 2 pages and 40 post later. it was compressed with a wire.

 

He owned it, thats what matters.

I had a dummy moment today as well.

 

Hey we all have them and I am glad to own it.....possibly someone else will train their eyes to look for thread compressing them. My old eyes sure wasnt thinking it. It does give me some mild satisfaction that you did read all 40 posts though *chuckle for a little ribbing* next time ill wear my bifocals and put my cane down to look for super strong alien tech thread and maybe we ALL should! They are out there.

 

Nice job owning it! Most twahts would have dipped out and either not posted in the thread again or claimed getting defective parts.

 

Nah....heck ya dont learn if ya dont screw up an ya gotta love a little fun ribbing on here. Thats what makes the forums fun, at my expense or someone else's people need to learn to laugh at themselves a little better these days. I didnt like wasting his popcorn though...that bothered me a little because its just to good to waste.

 

Besides I discovered a whole other DOH moment before I even got to crack my beer this evening and grunt like Tim Taylor. All that aside though thanks for all the attempts at helping from everyone. Until next time *cheers*

Even Kwikvette has them but dont tell him I said that. He wont admit to them hahaha. Between him and Bivouac they are quick on answering those 2 have helped me a ton since I started on here and many others but those 2 seem to be on my threads often. Dang good forum here aside from the search function.

 

When I installed my Bilsteins, I had the truck on jack stands and raised the differential until the bolts lined up. The suspension is fine as long as I don't over extend the shocks by any flying leaps over bumps. That was 5 yrs ago...

 

I guess I have just always done it on the ground, but the 1st time I did the struts on the front was a definite learning experience. Then I finally found somebody on youtube actually using the little barrell jack that came with the truck to press the arm down so I could get the lower bolt in. That may have been the best youtube video ever because I had no extra hands for a pry bar or anything.

 

Will definitely admit it, no doubt about it.

Today, I began cutting some square tubing and figured the wrong angle even though I drew it on the steel to cut.

Fortunately it was only one end and I got plenty more.

Still, a mistake was made.

 

I hate it when you cut something twice and it’s still too short.
