The reg cabs with 4WD from that generation were good looking trucks.

    Actually a Plymouth Duster. ;)

The Dodge version was called a Dart Sport and much less common.

A fellow at work came out to find the fender flare from his Dakota laying in the parking lot next to the truck. Everything behind it had rusted away. Within a year the other 3 fell off too.

The car on the show was not consistent in color. I can recall seeing one in dark brown, and one in a metallic gold shade. There may have been other colors.

The new Rams are nice, just be prepared to roll it on the scales at 90,000, break out the windows and push it into the shredder

Problem is the new RAMs are so expensive you will still be making payments on it as you call for the tow truck to take it to the scrap yard. Least they used to be cheap. Now you get expensive and crap quality.

Thats why I got rid of my 2013 Ram.

On the other hand, my neighbor has an old Dakota. Drives the hell out of that thing and never seems to have any major issues with it. Just another argument for older model trucks being superior.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I had a '98 Dakota 5.2 4x4 dclb. Sumbitch would pass everything but a gas station. 13MPG was the best I ever saw. Ate it's trans @130k. Three weeks later, the A/C clutch went out, taking out the seal on the compressor. Sold it and bought my '06 Tacoma. Haven't looked back.

Here in WI, Dodge trucks are complete rust buckets in 5 years. Even the bumpers rust through. One of the benefits they got from Mercedes, like the Sprinters. They're worse than the early '80s Toyota beds. Pretty sad for 40 years later.

I think the redish-brown one was the one he got to a million miles on and Dodge was going to give him a new Viper for, lol.

I had a '94 Dakota sport MT handed down from my dad with 125k miles on it. At 174k miles the driveshaft fell out while downshifting for a tollbooth. Guess that vibration was the shaft wearing itself out of the diff. Anyway, those generation Dodges had good bones and you could beat the p*ss out of them on par with the 'Yotas. Not any more my friends. There's a reason they print the word "Ram" on the back and sides. It's instructions.

There was also the episode where they lost it
at the car wash, went in shit brown and came out cherry red.

... I had a 2008 Ram I bought off the fleet lot with a 6MT. Fun bare-bones truck. Started having inexplicable gremlins at 120k miles.
