Interestingly enough this popped up on my feed. Maybe dead air (or the company that actually manufactures the cans for them) has had some QC issues.

I have an FNS-9. It's a nice gun, just don't shoot it very often because I'm a Glock guy. Wasn't a fan of the stock trigger though, and the DPI checkering was a bit aggressive for my taste, but I swapped for an Apex and put some Talon grips on it and it's fine now. I should probably take it out more.

Did you use crush washers to mount the muzzle device/suppressor mount? That's a no-no. They crush unevenly. Shims only at most.

Well crap, guess I should read to the end of the thread

sorry no 509 compact here but I'll throw in what I can. FN fan boy. I carry a full sized 509T and love it but I think it's too big for appendix with that threaded barrel digging in. I only know the stock trigger and have no problems with it. I'd probably like an Apex trigger though.

I also have the old FNP-9 and a FiveseveN but the 509 is the only thing I shoot these days.

We had a mag ban go in here and I bought Sig P365XL mags before it took effect so looks like I'm buying one of those for appendix. I tried my friends and it felt pretty damn good.

I used the have a 7mm08 a looooong time ago in a bolt gun and it shot great I wish I’d never gotten rid of it. One of the reasons I don’t sell guns anymore

Anyone ever have the caliber changed on a bolt rifle? I want to have a Model 70 change to 284 Winchester.
Looking for an idea on cost and time. My understanding is a rechamber isn’t very expensive or complicated.

I'm not sure yet. Short action would be ok for deer loads but has heavier options for elk and apparently needs long action; I'm reading about longer mag boxes with short action.

    edit:
Seems Model 70 with WSM follower and mag box is good for 3.1" OAL
