There's a group buy going on right now.

3 models available so far: TRs (45 and 60) and JP60 Pro25% off.

They supposedly setup a new site:

    https://frontierehub.com/collections/sports-outdoors

    Code: IH8MUD2022

Supposedly, we can request another code if anyone is interested in a VL60 Dual Zone.

Figured I share why this is happening & what I experienced with my iceco Black Friday purchase of the vl45.

I’ve worked for both UPS & FedEx. I’ve also worked for a shipping company & know how to print labels for shipping.

When Iceco gave me my first tracking number, I wrote the whole thing down. Then I typed it in & it was waiting to be picked up. (Label printed but not attached to any outgoing mail essentially.) 2 days later my tracking # was changed to a different number & was being shipped soon.

When I checked that one, it was also just sitting waiting to be attached to outgoing mail. I wrote the new tracking number down & contacted them. I told them that with the different #s, I felt they were out of stock. I said the only reason to cancel tracking # 1 was because the first warehouse didn’t have my product. They confirmed that’s why. They have 2 or 3 warehouses in Cali. If one warehouse doesn’t have your frig - you gotta wait for them to get it from another warehouse & or they have to recreate another shipping label at another spot. Seems they are a little inefficient.

They weren’t pleased when I had emailed screenshots of both tracking numbers. They quickly sent me my frig @ about 3.5 weeks or so.

The prices for the vl45 are nuts right now. I paid $450 last Black Friday. Don’t over pay - I love mine. Happy 4th

It’s plenty big for my wife & son & I. Currently it’s in the man cave!

    Nice!

My wife started a small landscaping company a few years ago. It started as a hobby and she started getting enough requests that she filed a company name and made it legit. Now that it's summer and she is using my truck more than I am, my ICECO JP40 is being used to keep cold drinks in the truck. Otherwise, it sits in my office as a personal beer fridge.

I just ordered the TR45 on the Lowes site. I am scheduled to pick it up at the local Lowes on the 1st of Aug.

I am not sure if I will return the 55IM or not.

    I received the TR45 yesterday.
    I unpacked it this morning.
This evening I plugged it in.
In other words, I let it settle.

    It will not turn on.
On AC adapter or Jackery DC output.
AC adapter green light is on.
Inside light does not come on.

Iceco support said power button ..
    1 short (click) ... 1 long (10 seconds)
    Nothing.
They said tech support will call me. 3 hours, end of their day, 5 pm pacific time, no call.

I checked the 15 amp fuse.
    I tried the option switch 1, 2, 3.

Well. Maybe tomorrow I will return to Lowes, and have them send me another one. That will take another week.

Dang. I'm sorry to hear that. I've been running my JP40 for almost 2 years non-stop. Hopefully they get you sorted out.

I called. They suggested taking the compressor cover off and check the clip-on connectors.
    "Will warranty be voided?"
    "No."

    Ok.
I took off the 13 screws. (Only plastic, so I am concerned about stripping)

There was a connector loose on the DC INPUT connection. I put it back on.
(A side note. There are 2 unused(?) connectors visible, with no place to be used.)

    Tested it and it works.
    All functions work.

    All Good.

So I put the cover back on.
I have worked in factories most of my adult life/career. I do not like the feel of the screws going into the plastic. They will strip the next time for sure.
That and the lack of a callback when promised .....
I am taking it back to Lowes. Just a gut feeling.

    Thanks,
    Ken

Can't say that I blame you, but if it was just a loose connection that doesn't seem like a huge deal to me. Obviously, you want it to work and shouldn't need to connect ANYTHING.

If it’s any consolation I’ve been using and abusing my TR45 for 2 years and have zero complaints.

I still need to put some tie down points in my bed for it because it tends to bounce around off-road. During a late night high speed run through the dunes last year I managed to slam it around hard enough to break a dozen bottles of beer. The TR45 didn’t care and still works just like the day I got it.

I love the lighter weight plastic TR45 over my buddy’s VL45 because it’s easy to load up the night before a trip in the house and carry out full the next day. Loaded with food and beer it weighs about what my buddy’s TR45 weighs empty. The plastic case also doesn’t dent like the VL45.

    Yeah guys. I agree.
Not a decision made from a problem.
Connection fixed. No problem. That was easy. The connection was obviously a secure click.

It was the screw holes for the cover. They felt like, if I did that again they would not hold. I should add, I am a skilled and handy person.
    I have 90 days with Lowe's, last I checked.
Tech support never called me back.
    500 dollars???

We've had enough conversations on here that I know you are competent and rational. Not judging your decision one bit.

Thanks. I think I was wanting to clarify for others that come later.
And, maybe Iceco sees it, and improves the screw holes for a cover that might be removed and replaced several times over its lifetime.
