Keyed power on source behind dash?

Want to run a remote control switch receiver wired so it only turns on when the ignition is active - any suggestions for a good source to tie into that’s conveniently under the driver’s side dash? I considered through the firewall to the main circuit breakers, but would rather keep all the wires behind and under the dash.

Where is the power point mentioned in that post? I would also have used a fuse tap, but the cover on the fuse box under there is too narrow for one to fit in it.

Bunch of different people make extended fuse covers to fix this. They also have cutouts in the side to run the wires through.

Just got mine, very nicely made and fits perfectly. Nice touches too with the extra fuses and fuse puller.

 

It is nice but mine doesn't fit because I added another fuse panel for my heated seats. Completely my fault here.

 

Oh no, would have bought yours… sell it here on marketplace.

 

I may. On the fence if I'm going to move the secondary fuse panel and use it. Or just sell it.

 

Or simplify the whole thing and use the cover- tap in seat fuses.
