My 2007 SR5 has almost 200k miles on it. I was having difficulty with excessive clutch freeplay and the pedal not returning to the full up position. The dealership replaced the clutch, the clutch pedal, the clutch master cylinder, and a hydraulic line that goes to the master cylinder. Now my cruise control doesn't work. The green cruise light in the instrument cluster comes on, but when I press Set, it doesn't work. My dashboard is as dusty as normal, so I don't believe the mechanic took out the dash or steering column to make it easier to work on the clutch pedal. I've scheduled a service appointment for next week, but if it's something I could troubleshoot on my own I would, but I don't know where to start. Is this just coincidence, or do the wires from the cruise control run somewhere near any of the parts that were replaced?

Theres a switch under the dash comes in contact with the clutch pedal toward top or should touch. If its not adjusted CC wont work. Easy fix is adjust it out so it touches and engages at full pedal release

Yes clutch switch more than likely. Also look at the brake switch.

I hope the image with the cruise control button switch stays embedded in this post with a copy and paste. Both of you guys are right. Thanks for your help. I found the clutch cruise control switch and it's not being pressed up. It comes through the hole in the "bracket" on the side of the clutch pedal that's supposed to hold it up. I couldn't get tape to stick over the hole, so I took a piece of aluminum flashing to cover the hole and managed to get it to grip to the clutch bracket and took it for a drive. With the aluminum pushing the switch button fully up the cruise control would now engage. The switch button fits nicely through the hole in the bracket, but obviously something is wrong. Is there a rubber fitting or grommet of some sort missing from this, like maybe a rubber bumper that would cover the hole in the clutch bracket? I had questioned why the clutch pedal needed to be replaced instead of just the master cylinder, and the mechanic said that Toyota changed the master cylinder and it didn't work well with the older style clutch pedals. He also said there was enough side to side play in the pedal that without the push from the master cylinder it tended to get "locked" in the down position and wouldn't return fully on its own. I had been having to pull the clutch pedal up with my toe so [assuming the mechanic was telling me the truth] that made sense. I have no idea if that new pedal is part of the problem.

    I don’t know, as I don’t have a manual trans.
But I think you can unplug the switch and screw it down from the top to lower the switch.
    @Jimmyh probably knows

But that might not be the problem. I don’t see why switch should have been messed with in the first place?
Maybe the new pedal is different?

I looks like there is hole under the switch as if a dummer bumper goes in there?
Maybe one of the guys with a clutch can snap a pic?

There's a little rubber plug that goes there, I usually take one of those plastic push pins an put it in there to fix them.

Yup clutch guy here you're definitely missing the pedal pad for the switch.

The hole the plunger is going through is the hole for the pad nipple to be pulled through and secured.

If the dealer did the work take it back and tell them they forgot to install the pedal pad for the clutch up switch.

The devil is in the details isn't it? I would chalk this up to a nuisance visit back to the dealer if everything else they did was done to spec. However, finding steps undone or missed even when they're minor raises the thought of whether or not any other oopses happened.

I had my clutch pedal replaced under some kind of tsb when i had my 2011. Solved a squeak problem and felt better overall.

Just take it back, they'll fix it. I'd want the rubber pad in there

This there should be a flat rubber piece that goes there and it depresses the switch assembly.

Agree with the others take it back and allow them to provide you with the excellent service you paid for.

Thanks for all the info guys. Does anybody know if that bumper normally comes with the clutch pedal, either installed or to be installed by the mechanic? I can just see the scenario where I return to have this corrected and the dealership charges me for the part.
