I am picking up a camper shell (finally!!!) for my 2004 Double Cab. I called Toyota, they said there is no plug and play harness. I like doing my own work, but I feel a bit intimidated with electrical. I also want to add an interior dome light.

Things I have- wire, butt splices and some other connectors, wire strippers, most tools that might be needed.

What I don't have- the knowledge of tapping into the truck brake lights.

What I am looking for- someone who can assist me with this. I called around, and for these two lights, labor alone is $250 and that feels steep to me. I can come to you, buy the beer/lunch. Anyone?

When I purchased my topper, they ran a wire from the battery, underneath the vehicle and then up near the tailgate/light. It is fused and hot all the time. Looks like a 12ga. single wire. That may not be necessary, but it allows for future growth such as additional lights. LED is the answer.
