I dont follow everything that Finance guy Dave Ramsey says to do being cash in-cash out but he's right about there being an emotional connection to cash, when you hand it away it hurts. When you swipe that card, it's an emotionless transaction. No pain. That's intentional.

About a month ago a phone co. glitch caused a huge outage in the Interac system up here. Folks walkin’ around dazed like a natural disaster was goin’ down. Old School cash is what I still carry. Sure, got the cards too but when the chips are down, Cash always rules.

Y'all talking about electrical services for your shops...I guess I didn't realize until now that a 200a service in my garage is practically a unicorn.

They (City) wouldn’t let me do it. Said they wanted separate meter etc. etc. etc. til I said enough. My closing remark was “So, I guess 3 phase is out of the question then”.

Got to pick my wife up at the airport at 6:10, took the kids on a quick fish trip. Glad I did. Biggest fish I’ve ever held and Cole caught it :bananadance:

I was ankle deep in mud with the net in my Sunday britches. Didn’t even care :D

If you make the mental connection that they're both coming out of the same pot, the means of payment shouldn't matter. Everything goes on my credit card which gets paid off every month. Bonus - we get back over $1000 each year for using it.

Just started using this other card & it’s kinda creepy. Gives you instant discounts if I leave the phone location services on. Today I was drivin’ by the gas station when it reminded me & sure enough, I needed gas. Hate to see what happens if I go downtown. o_O

That's exactly my point. Most Americans don't make that mental connection because the swipe is second nature. We swipe so much. Thats great you pay your balance at the end of every month, I do too but 1-5% cash back is easy money to give away when card companies are hitting people with 11-25% for the 40% of Americans that don't pay their balances off. I whole heartedly see a day where I have 0 credit cards, not worried at all about a credit score because I've got a metric shit ton of cash in the bank.
