Truck loses all electrical power!

I have a 2001 Tacoma and the last two times I shut off the truck I lose all power for about 5-10 seconds...I can't unlock doors, roll down windows, when turning key nothing happened or lights up, overhead lights do not work then after a fee seconds everything works normally...besides this the truck starts and runs fine....any ideas?
I have not changed or modified anything and the battery is less than a year old
*also the idle and all that which is controlled by the ecu is normal, clock displays the wrong time, aftermarket radio resets itself.

 

Check those battery terminals very close. I've had similar things happen with corroded or loose clamps.

 

I know they aren't corroded but when I get back to the house I was going to disconnect the battery, let it sit for a while then reconnect.

Just checked the battery and everything is connected securely with no corrosion. When I turned the truck off this time it did not lose power. It works fine. On the way home, i Also noticed it idles smoother at a consistent 700rpm and not at 600rms and my stubborn check engine light is off on it's own and no more vibrations when idling. I put some Techron synthetic fuel system cleaner in today so Maybe the computer was fixing itself and all the other work I put into it has paid off...trying to be optimistic

98tacoma27 - i hope its not the ignition switch, i know the battery is good, i know the truck is 10 years old but in the last 2 months i have put $1200 into it fixing thins that have gone out and on a college budget its putting a big dent into my mod and beer money haha

i dont know if its fixed though, i may go drive around the block and see if it cuts off again when i get home...

 

well i know the code already and its an EGR code and tonight i have not disconnected the battery becuase the problem hasnt happened again so i did not reset anything...the current trip miles on the OD didnt reset and only once did the clock reset but like i said before the radio, power locks/windows and dome lights wouldnt work and once nothing happened when i tried to start the truck...so i dont know what the truck is doing or did but hopefully it was something good....

 

yeah it does but the truck losing electrical power like that isnt cool but i guess ill see what happens tomorrow, i took it around the block about an hour ago and it worked fine so im not sure what happened
