ChilliTaco’s 2017 AC OR Build

After reading through some amazing build threads, I wanted to get in on the fun!

I didn’t take a lot of mod pics up until now, but will share what I have done already here, and add as I go forward.

Bought my truck in February 2022, used off the lot at Henninger Toyota in Calgary, AB. It had 35k kms on it, and some minor hail damage on the roof n Hood. Found it through AutoTrader.ca via a messed up ad. Lucky for me!

Mods in order of install:

- 265/75/R16 Wrangler Duratracs we’re the first “mod” as I run it for work, and the stocks only lasted 2k before catastrophic failure.

- Quadlock Phone charger/window mount. Works amazing, night and day over the previous option I had.

- TRD Heritage Grille added next, along with some decals and a grille badge. I say Heritage not PRO because that is what they were originally called. Got the grille, off Kijiji for $50! Haha decals and badge from Amazon.

- Bed Armour Spray on for rocker protection. Works ok, looks cool though, haha.

- Body Armor 4x4 Pro Series rear bumper, found on Kijiji again, kid that had it “filled” in the light ports, and I liked how it looked.

- Sumo Springs found on FB Marketplace for half price, dude hadn’t even installed them, “lost” them in his garage and sold the truck, lol his wife was stoked for the beer money.

- Sprucewood Ventures “Rat Pack” style tool box. Dude does amazing work, and it’s built flush to the end gate.

- VFTuner, not really a mod, but for the truck. No tuning services within 500 kms, so worth it over all to get the device.

- Nexus Performance +P tune, YW Nexus Blackhawk AD tune. Amazing CS by @Mooseditty17 and @Kevinpd325

- HD Ridez Aluminum side steps. Look good, easy install. Took me an hour or so, just bolt into the factory pre tapped holes. Amazon. They were listed as iArmor, but idk lol mainly bought for rocker panel protection, as it was getting chewed up by the mud/gravel at work.

- Redarc Brake controller. Had a regular style, installed by the dealer I think, but it was in a shit spot, they installed it in front of the OBDII port! Wasn’t a practical spot for relocation, and had really liked the clean look of the Redarc.

- Start-X Remote Start. This was ridiculously easy to install, took me ten minutes, after watching the install video. No extra remote needed, starts with the Taco FOB.

- Body Armor 4x4 Highline Winch bumper.

- Warn Evo VR-10S Winch, with Sidewinder.

- 20” LED light bar, Cap-It branded, came as a package deal with the bumper.

- Smoked LED sequential turn signal mirror lights, Amazon again, happened to be 30% off when I was scrolling. Also picked up centre console divider and tray.

- AJT Designs FOB, looks cool. Put the key for the tailgate in the console in the holder…

- Found some 17” TRD rims with BFG KO2’s on Kijiji for cheap, planned to run them for the winter but the KO2’s sucked donkey balls when it got slick.

- Soooo Added some Falken Wildpeaks AT3W in 255/80/17. Man they are awesome!
