Cheapest Gas prices on the "Big Island"? Pass it on!

Post it up to help out others who may be struggling.

Big island ,Costco is usually the lowest prices.

I just sign up for new Big Island Energy Company. For a gas card. 24/7. It is a fueling facility. Design more for commercial / trucking companies.

Anyone can sign up. Three locations, Hilo, Kawaihae, and in Kona near Kaiser clinic. Just up the road.
Approx 15 cents above Costco. For gas.

Rare to see any lines. No waiting. Got a boat with trailer? Easy to fuel.
Hours open is 24/7.
They carry Regular gas, Ethanol free gas, ON road diesel, Off road diesel, Diesel Exhaust (def).

 

Use an app called Gas Buddy

 

The Big Island Energy company will not appear on the Gas Bubby apps, because of it member only. Need to register with this private own company.
There prices are super great. Most of there customers are commercial business. (Truckers)

Another thought….”Smart people can act Stupid”, BUT “Stupid cannot act Smart”. Enjoy being stupid.

 

You mean member only like Costco and Sam's? Has nothing to do with using the App, which is crowd sourced, only with ability to purchase from them.

Big island Costco is not listed either, every island is different .

BIE will not be on the Gas Buddy apps. There are the next cheapest on the Big Island.

Hilo prices are always cheaper then Kona. Because the fuel has to be transported from Hilo to Kona 100 miles away. A few gas stations will get fuel delivers from Kawaihae.

BIC is different from Costco & Safeway cards. BIC do not meet Gas buddy requirements. Never be listed.
I fill up at Kona Costco & BIC …I know there prices. Reason I sign with BIC - savings + 24/7 and NO lines.

 

BIE isn't a new company

 

BIC- Since 1982. A local single family-own petroleum company. Other family related , are the Maui Oil company & Lanai Oil company.

I just join BIC and it is new to me.
I still prefer filling up at Kona Costco store. Costco has super long lines everyday, unless before 10: am and after 7: pm.

BIC gives me 24/7 and approx 15 cents more per gallon. 21 gallons X .15 = 3.15 more = $3.15 more.

I usually will fill at 1/2 tank . 11 gallons
if Costco price is $5.00 X 11 gals = $55.00
BIC. the price is.$5.15 X 11 gals = $56.65. $1.65 NO lines , crowds. 24/7. Right now I fill only twice a month (Retired).

I will try them for a few months. If it cost too much more or if any problems occur, I will cancel my membership.

Two major locations Kona ( up road from Kaiser) & Hilo (behind Target) 24/7

My personal opinion cost of living on the Big Island is a bit higher. Oahu seems cheaper.
I was born and raised on Oahu. Moved to the Big Island 1981?

 

Hawaii Petroleum gives discounts for credit union members, auto-pay monthly from checking acct., cheaper than Safeway in Hilo, and I think Ministops take the card too……..

BIC is a different company. ? The nice thing is there pumps are open 24/7 including holidays .There prices are very low. But only one location to pump gas in Kona . Design more for commercial users and big trucks.
Rare to see it crowded, vs Costco. Many times , I am the only person there. BIC bills you once a month.
