AC only blows cold on drivers side

I’ve got a 2018 with about 35k on it and the AC seems to only work on the drivers side (I do not have dual climate control). The vent closest to the door is the coldest and it gets progressively warmer as we get to the passenger side.

The first thought was the temp blend door actuator but I’m not convinced. I removed the glove box and I can see the actuator moving when I change from cold to hot and the temp changes accordingly. All of the doors that I can see move when they are supposed to (air direction and recirculate).

It feels like I’m getting about the same air pressure out of every vent so I don’t think there’s a clog and I’ve seen no signs of rodent damage. The only issue seems to be that the air coming from the passenger vents is significantly warmer than the drivers side, but I wouldn’t call it hot.

Could I have a stuck door that isn’t allowing cold air to flow to one side? And if so, how would I access that? Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!

Would that impact only one side? I’ll get it checked regardless but I guess that didn’t dawn on me

Yup. Common trait of the system being low. How it got low, however, is a different story.

These trucks use a newer style refrigerant, not sure if you can find it in any cans.

Let us know what the cause was....it will be my first mod. I am always too hot, my wife is always too cold. This "feature" would be perfect for me.

You sit on the driver's side. What's the problem?

I’m thinking about leaving it this way for that exact reason, except I take my dogs with me a lot and I don’t want them overheating.

Looks like my AC condenser is leaking so Toyota is going to replace it at no cost. Maybe I wasn’t a total idiot for getting that extended warranty! Would’ve cost me $1100 otherwise.

    Oh look, another mod....
Let's think about this: Did you win because you saved $1,100, or did you lose because your wife will tell you over and over and over and over "I'm cold, turn down the a/c!"?

Don't even try with the over the counter refills on these trucks.

    They take 1234yf refrigerant only.

    You'll need it professionally serviced.

Not really, DIYed it myself with 1234yf cans, but I already had the right tools to do it, including a vacuum pump. It’s not as easy as just topping it off for a few bucks at Kragen anymore, that new stuff is expensive!

I've done it as well with close help from someone who knew what they were doing and had a vacuum pump as well.

Being that the original poster didn't know that they're low on refrigerant, I think it's safe to assume they're not ready to DIY this.
