    Good morning.
I have the week off and wanted to catch up on some maintenance to my 2015 Tacoma.
I did an oil change, a tranny drain and fill, replaced the gas cap, cleaned the the engine bay and cleaned the cab. The hardest part was cleaning the cab due to dog hair, Lord Help.
After all that, I plugged in the scan tool and found 2 "Failed to start" notifications.
I actually remembered when these took place. I guess the truck remembered it too.
I didn't realize that the on board computers would save a failed to start. The truck didn't show a check engine light. I was just familiarizing myself with my Innova 5410 Scan tool. I've had it for about a year and never really used it much.
    Later.

I'm assuming your referring to the P1604 Startability Malfunction code, it sets whenever cranking speed is low or if the engine stalls immediately after startup. I see that code in over half the Toyota's that I scan, it's typically nothing to worry about although it can be an indication your battery is getting weak.
I've only ever seen that code in Toyota vehicles, it will not turn on the CEL.

I actually remember these two fail to start, I turn the key and the starter motor did its thing but I let go before the engine cranked up.
I did this twice in about 2 months. At least I'm thinking that this is the reason. Either way all the "DRIVE CYCLES" have reset and my scanner is showing all the I/M Monitors status icons are green.
    BTW, thanks for the reply.
