Kinda pressed for time and parts are scarce. My daughter is moving 1300 miles away in 2 weeks. I'm trying to get her 2017 RAV4 ready. This winter she hit some ice and brushed against a concrete divider and got a fair amount of rash on the wheel. I knew it needed new tires, so I got a great price on a set of Pirelli all season tires and got an alignment as well.

Turns out she bent the strut when she hit the wheel and it would not go into alignment. All I could find on short notice was KYB Strut Plus assemblies. I've read mixed reviews on them regarding the top bearing. Just wondering if anyone else has used them in a RAV and had any issues. I'll keep the OEM top plates for now so I can reuse if needed. I mostly just need to get her car ready to drive in two weeks.

At this point it doesn't matter as that's what I'll be putting in it this week and she'll be gone next week. Just hoping I don't end up having to replace the top bearings whenever I go visit.

Nothing wrong with them but I have run into issues with them and clunking over bumps.

All quick struts are made with the cheapest parts available.

I wouldn't worry, KYB are the better of choices for quick struts.

I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate the "Macphearson" brand quick struts. They always make noise.

    OME and worth every penny.
I think (I know in Hondas application) what people are griping about is that the newer KYB (and most replacements) are just a teflon sliding ring instead of the old stye bearing top hat.
It's gone for good is my understanding, everyone has 'cheapened' their assembly from the factory even.

So far so good. My daughter has put about 5,000 miles on the new struts with no complaints. They were at least straighter than the originals and allowed it to get back into alignment.
