Just picked up first Tacoma. A 2022 SR, about as plain jane as a Tacoma can get. But I look forward to customizing it to my liking. It is technically a commuter, so I’ll be avoiding any major heavy items. Will mostly focus on cosmetics to be honest.

This is my base 2017SR Tacoma with the only option being the appearance package that gave it painted bumpers, rear jump seats and sliding rear window. Didnt want to pay for a lot of stuff Ill never use to get a truck with more trim on it. I accidentally ran across Tacoma World and saw these guys unloading their unwanted chrome cheap. After seeing that I went out and bought the base Tacoma and built my version of what I really wanted. Mods cost me less than $2500. The tailgate handle surround has since been painted body color and a chrome tailgate handle installed.The interior also received upgrades.
You dont have to spend a lot to fix one up. Use Tacoma World all you can for parts and suggestions. I even waited to get the tires and wheels on sale. Having family working at Summit Racing also helped me save. I wasn't afraid to go in a different direction. When you do your build do what you like. Your going to be the one driving it.

 

That’s a nice way to embrace the chrome, it works with the red.
