tonneau cover + bed rack + 4 bike system

Hi all,

I'm building out my first ever taco and am in the process of spec'ing out a system for my 4 bikes (2 hybrids and 2 mountain) that need to go on a bed rack system. I've seen a bunch of piecemeal discussion/options as I've done research, but have yet to see a complete setup of someone's system per the following:

• Tonneau Cover; prefer some form of security
• Bed Rack cross bars; i'm very flexible on this as long as they are somewhat durable and can take a little bit of off road use when loaded
• Bike Racks; leaning towards either a Thule, Yakima or Rockymounts

Anyone out there have some ideas or pictures of a 4 bike system?

I went with a 1-up for 2 bikes on the hitch and a cap to store the other 2. We'll see how it holds up in the long run.

 

Sounds like you need a diamondback with some cross bars

 

Ah, yeah, diamondback was on my radar for a long time. That is one solid cover. I completely switched gears and went with a cap in case I want to add an RTT down the road. I'll post some pics this weekend after I load it up.

There are a lot of options depending on your desired tonneau cover setup. If you go with a sit on top tri-top (OEM accessory style) or flush mount (Bakflip mx4) you can go with bolt on set up line KBVoodoo or Billie Bars. Any setup should mount 4 bikes.

I went with a Bakflip style flush mount tonneau with Rhino Rack RTC rails mounted on the bed and RLT quick mount legs attached to Vortex crossbars. I mount my iKamper Mini to the cross bars and install removal is a breeze. It is low profile so the tent is tucked down behind the cab.
