Hey guys, I am new here. Just picked up a 2000 Toyota Tacoma 3.4L 5 speed. Has around 290,000 miles on it.

Previous owner had some new tires, so I had a shop do an alignment. While doing that they said it was leaking around the valve cover. Not having the time I told them to go ahead and do it. Got it back it is idling rough and ticking some, only while under around 2200 RPM. After that it is running smoothly and also the engine light came on and it was blinking.

I am no mechanic, so what do I need to watch out for? The shop I took it too does alot of our repairs for my business so I hope they don't mess around with me, just saying that hey its old so it just messed up again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have wanted this series Tacoma for a long time, finally bit the bullet and done it.

Welcome to Tacoma World. I'm not very familiar with the 1st gen stuff, but first thing I would check is that they reconnected all the hoses/lines properly. If you are missing a vacuum hose or something it could run poorly like that.
