but only if it were available to the Public .....Tisk Tisk Tisk on you TRD

I was checking out this Podcast w/ guest Ted Moncure Former Product Devolpment Manager over at TRD and is now a head Honcho over at proComp....He was there for the TRD Program from start to Finish & he talks about getting Clearance from Denso to get into the 5vzfe ECU and Tune it to his Likings, and he gets ridiculous Horse power #'s off of only an Exhaust and an Air Intake...something like 230-240 HP off only 2 Simple Bolt on's !?!?!?!?!?! O-M-Geeeee

He has some great Knowledge, Cool Stories and Answers a Ton of Questions that we all have about the 1st Gen ECU

So much misinformation here... Talking about the 5vz having forged rods, giant fuel system, and vvt?? I can't trust anything they say. 270hp from and intake, exhaust, and tune? There's no freaking way even with e85 and tons of timing.

And the subject line is misleading. The 5vz is still not tuneable (save for OVTune), and the "results" are fabricated completely.

How is that Misinformation??? My Title is exactly what Ted.M was talking about and it’s all True. It’s coming Straight from the Horses Mouth
Maybe he meant Stock as in a “Stock Race” Motor ? He was prolly caught up in the Conversation that he thought he was shooting the shit down memory Lane with Cal Wells and the rest of the PPi Posse and he assumed we all know what he was talking about...I was trying to decipher a few things he said...But one thing is for Certain is that he specifically called out the 3.4L 5vzfe ECU and how Denso blessed him with the Password to fiddle and tune it how he please.

If you think about it, now it’s all makes sense on why an ECU would be so hard to break into...well that’s because the 3.4L is a secret weapon/MoAB/WMD So this is for all the guys saying the CAi is a waste of money and that it give’s you no extra Ponies

Cheers and have a cold Frosty Coors Original on the House

I think he is getting alot mixed up. At one point he says 5vz he had the codes to tune it, but then alittle later says there was never a tune for the 5vz. he also said 270hp with intake and exhaust, but it was really 270hp with the supercharger. What he did get the codes to tune was the 1GR - which was the first engine that TRD came out with a tune for the S/C'd model. He also talks about the TRD blower for the 2UZ and having the codes to tune it, making it so far ahead everyone else, but then in another part mentions that they used a piggyback for it. What he forgot to mention was that later on they came out with a 7th injector and piggyback for the 5VZ which addressed the lack of fueling, but did not address the timing retard - and the only reason they brought it out, was because URD found the problem to begin with.

I know that I’m bringing this back from the dead, but someone can pay Anonymous to obtain the Denso codes.
