I am a new member but have followed you folks for a while. Crazy stuff going on with my nice 335k mile 'O5 Tacoma TRD.
Yesterday I happened to notice both rear running and stop lights not working. I inspected fuses, tow package wiring (factory installed), finally taking off the taillight housings and finding both lights were damaged. The left one had fallen out into the housing one filament was burned out, probably from banging around. The other was still in place, but the bulb base and glass portion were coming apart. If its not weird enough to have two die at once, it gets weirder.
I replaced the bulbs and re-installed the taillight housing units on the truck. I noticed 2 of the three (third) stoplight bulbs were not working so I replaced the bulbs with the correct bulbs. All worked fine. Yeehaw!!!
I drove home from my shop and noticed I could not get it out of Park after I stopped and restarted. In a few minutes it got really weird. I manually over-road the shifter to get it started (first time in 335k miles).
    Now:
The airbag light is on, the check engine light is on, I have no a/c compressor, no turn indicators, no cruise control function, and maybe a few other things I did not check. All exterior lights function except turn indicators.
I do not have a code reader, but if someone can tell me what to do I would appreciate it, A WHOLE LOT. The truck is very original except for new paint about 6 months ago. I runs great, looks great, and I really enjoy it. I wanna keep it and fix it til it dies, or I do.
    Thanks for any suggestions.
    Robert
PS Like many of you, my dealer is a total pain, so I get it serviced at an after market place here in Santa Fe. They are great but are backed up two months because our Toyota dealership is so worthless.
