    Are you satisfied w/ the tailgate handle letters? I'd like to do this to mine , but I'm curious as to how they will hold up to the weather/elements?

    I have the handle letters on mine too in white and really like them. Put them on about a year and a half ago and they still look great. And I run my truck through automatic car washers all the time and it has not hurt them at all. And they were pretty inexpensive if I recall, so if I had to replace them every couple of years it would not be an issue.

    The first set I got peeled after a long romp off road in very dusty conditions, but I got a replacement set and they have held up for a couple of years without any issues. Probably didn’t clean the handle good enough the first time.

    I noticed today that some of the letters on my tailgate have started to peel. Since they came with the vehicle new (truck came with blackout package ), I wonder if this will be covered under warranty.

    I would definitely see if the dealer would swap them out. Worst case they say no. I did inserts on the "Toyota" on the tailgate. Got them from Tufskinz. Would definitely recommend them for replacement if the dealer said no.

    I went the Tufskinz route...good reviews and a bit cheaper than the OEM inserts. I have no reason to believe they won't hold up...they seem to be a quality material and are backed with 3M adhesive. I made sure I prepped and cleaned the surface really well before applying, and when I wash the truck I wipe them down with 303 Aerospace Protectant to prevent any fading. That said, it's only been a month...time will tell.

    I got a set made by Eyecatcher in AZ, they seem to be very good quality with 3m adhesive. They come pre-spaced on plastic film so you just have to line up one letter then press them all at once on the tailgate.
