It’s just built in anti theft protection. Put the tools in and they never come back out

New transfercase skid ready to get put to work next weekend! Finally had the exhaust reroute done and a new skidplate made to accommodate the added drivetrain length of the crawlbox.

Getting rid of the low hanging stock exhaust at the crossmember and the skid that accommodated it, I gained about 2 1/2" in clearance.

Also chopped off the tail pipe after the axle while I had tools out :)

    Awesome!

I wish I would have taken the time to do it myself. The shop I had do it must have had a noob weld it up. It's not pretty but it works.

Have to wonder why it doesn't come like this stock?

It's the one thing I wish they tailored to the 10% of their customers that actually off-road

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
They have all of these fancy off-roading electronic aids, then they leave the exhaust hanging down, go figure.

After years (roughly 5-ish) finally got an actual exhaust reroute done! Took the stock exhaust pipe cradle(?) out of the rear skid plate too. Added a resonator and I'm REALLY happy with it all!

Retrofits on second gens look dead sexy. Only downside with LED or HID though is winter driving.

This toolbox to me is a great value for the money, my one buddy has two of them (he got a steal of a deal) and another that has one, I have worked out of both and find them pretty handy when accessing tools, click locking drawers with soft close. Also has plug in's in the top for charging.

Definitely taking notes on the tool box discussion.

I currently have an 20 year old Craftsman rollaway, which is totally fine, but not very big.

I have a few friends using the harbor freight boxes and they seem pretty satisfied with them. Recently one of my buddies got one of the big Husky ones and it seems really nice as well.

100% agreed with the point earlier about opening and closing the drawers and feeling the difference. I honestly think the drawer slides are the biggest factor that differentiates the good boxes from the shitty ones.

The problem is that, once you get a bigger box, you will just keep buying more tools to fill it up.
