    Nice try lol

I actually found a magnetic key box from the last owner stuck to the hollow part of my rear bumper when I was cleaning last summer. Now I'm up to four keys. I have a first gen, so I don't really need a spare key, I can get the rear slider open with a well placed smack from my hand without breaking anything.

I still use my old AAA plastic key card that goes I'm my wallet. Also in a pinch you can pop the rear window out of a 1st gen in about 2 minutes with a flat head screw driver.

I read it’s meant only to open the door but is not deemed strong enough to use in the ignition slot. I would chance it if my key fell down a sewer grate or something. I believe AAA has discontinued them. Not really sure how a member got one. By VIN # or send in a spare key?

I used to keep mine in a combo lock box on the tail hitch or on one of the tie downs in the bed. Never failed me especially when doing beach activities

Bought same one at Autozone. Those magnets stick strong. Trying for the best place, I reached under around to the open inner side of the U shaped frame rail up front. Bad placement spot. Once placed, the magnets attached so firmly that I could not get a fingers grip to remove it. Had to pry it with a screwdriver to get it to where my fingers could release it. I found a less discrete spot. Be careful where you attach it, those magnets hold tight! The zip tie idea is good, but not everyone carries a knife on their person. Tape idea is a good one too, if you double up one end so you can easily peel it off years later.

My gluing a key inside the taillight well and keeping a Phillips head screwdriver under the bed mat is not a bad idea either, except if it happens to be raining. Better than crawling under. I applied Goop at the wide part of the key and it stuck and pried off easy, 14 years later. I’d probably do the same now, if I owned a later model. Make sure the 4 rear light assembly screws loosen and tighten easily. Don’t wanna strip one of them loosinging it. What theif is gonna want to go thru all that?

You could bolt one of these "key lock box" somewhere under the vehicle.

I hope the people that replied never posted a pic of their truck with their license plate showing.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Why it is not Like I can drive with my License plate Covered .

I never could understand the reasoning.People want my address they only need to ask.

I never hide a key any place I used the two key system my main key ring lived in my left pocket all the keys I needed.

My truck and shop key job box key of which copies lived on the main key ring was carried in my right pocket.

Besides you don`t want a heavy key ring hanging from the ignition switch.

This system worked great for 20 plus years never locked out of anything.

There's bigger fish to fry. If you're reasoning behind why folks shouldn't post pictures of their truck and license plate because someone will go steal theit vehicle, than that's just dumb :angrygirl:. You shouldn't drive at all if that's the case nor get any official documents because "someone" will know.

I have one of these as well. It's getting a little worn. I need to not lock myself out of my truck so much.
