On y '01 Tacoma I have replaced the door handles twice, both times from Rock Auto and both times gotten K-rap. Can anyone suggest a brand that won't out? It is obvious by looking at them what the design flaw is.
    Thanks, Mike

Just have to watch till they restock, I had to wait about 1-2 months but they're worth it.

In addition, it might be worth rebuilding your locking mechanism. Mine had gotten a bit sticky after 200,000 miles and was causing increased wear on the handle. Rebuilding has greatly reduced the force needed to open the door and is improving handle longevity

There was another member that bought the metal one off Amazon.....
    it eventually broke too....

Never seen the metal one off ebay before.....maybe it will work out....

I, me bought the real toyota oem one from mcgeorge....
    and was/is crunchy from day one......not smooth.....WTF

I keep a cheap knockoff pair around, along with couple of the generic inside ones too.......dirt cheap insurance...

I’ve replaced driver and passenger side with OEM off Amazon. First time on a 20 year old truck with 181k miles and counting. :dunno:

I just ordered one of the Dorman in black. Ill see how it holds up.

I think the one that just broke was the 8 dollar deal from Rock Auto. It lasted about a year.
