They have them listed on their site. Definitely nice to have and it does protect the tracks and the stuff you put on the tracks. They do slide off easy so do watch out for when sliding gear over the covers.

 

I need to add sound damping material to my RC, how much should I be looking at buying to cover the rear wall?

 

Back walls should all be roughly the same, I think I used 1 box of Dynamat Extreme, did two layers and a roll of Dynapad.

Helped tons but made me realize how loud the rest of the truck was so I did that too.

1.5 rolls of Dyna Liner, Another roll of Dyna pad and 2.5 more boxes of Dynamat Extreme did the whole cab of my Access Cab, roughly 90% coverage and did inside the doors and on the door faces.

So one bulk box of Dynamat Extreme should do you.

 

VF1 from a 94 V6 pickup
VF2 from a 4runner (I dont know the year)
VF4 from a 2nd gen 6MT Tacoma (This is what I have in my truck)

Surprisingly little has changed in the cases since the early 80s.
The VF1 and VF2 just flipped from pass drop to drivers drop.
The oil pump had to change a bit.
The synchro for the high/low fork was not in my VF2 (it was clearly factory sealed, so it's not like it went missing)
Front output is different length
The input shaft oil seals is one of the subtle changes I noticed. otherwise it looks like a lot of the parts swap?



I have not torn down the VF4 yet, It's the direct swap for my truck. MT input gear and everything. The shift motor is damaged though

 

What's an FJ (J shift) case considered?

 

VF4 I believe? It's more due to the transmission mounting pattern then anything... I think?

I still need to split my FJ case and mod it for my twin sticks.

Then actually freakin install the damn thing.

Been holding my bench down for like 3 years.

 

Did the DIY transmission flush and my sloped driveway didn’t do me any favors. Jacked the truck up to try to get it closer to level, ended up with fluid coming back out of the fill port when I’d tried to add that last quart, and just a drop or two came out when I heated up the trans to 115 degrees and pulled the overflow plug. I’m halfway between throwing a bubble level on the frame and trying again, but it’s gotta be pretty close.

Also, 70,000 miles in Louisiana heat wasn’t kind to the fluid.

BigDawg Industries Mirror riser was a cheap and easy mod that makes life much better =)

 

So when I lifted my truck a year and a half ago I did things well and didn't stretch an abs sensor. I think however when I changed my hubs I stretched a wire. Changed them out months ago but just recently started getting abs and Trac lights on the dash. I hooked up my cheap obd reader to it and there aren't any codes so I don't suspect the wheel sensor is bad from the hub change. Will a bad wheel sensor always throw a code? If I don't get a code does that confirm the harness was stretched? Anyone have any input on how I tell if it's left or right harness?

You need a scan tool that reads Toyota ABS codes. For my Ford I use forscan to read ABS codes. You probably need techstream software and a dongle for the obd2 port. I bought the forscan dongle and reader for $15 and I can read every code in my Ford. I also added navigation with the software. Just replaced an abs wheel sensor using it. I don't see anything anywhere that does this for Toyotas for under $60 and you still need to access the software to download.
