Looking for recommendations on how to run my aux cable.

Years ago the shop who installed my cd player ran it from the back of the unit to the glove box. It worked ok for back when I was just using an ipod, but now we want the device to be accessible for using GPS, browsing web, etc.,

As it is currently, it will reach out long enough for a person to mess with their device while it's plugged in, but the cable is always dangling where it wants to get yanked by a leg or foot.

What're some clean ways I can relocate this? Ideally I'd like it to be so that I can run it to my iPhone mounted onto my AC vent without it getting in the way..

Is getting an aftermarket head unit with Bluetooth not an option for you?

It’s possible, I was hoping for a cheaper option atm. I also took a look behind there a while back and there’s a decent amount of wiring that I’m afraid of screwing up..

    It's really really not hard.

Honestly BT HU replacement is your best option, otherwise some 3M trim adhesive and some cable clips, then a 2.5mm jack extension cable to wherever you need.

When I did use an aux plug it was stashed away in that little cubby just to the right of the steering column.

Would help to see pictures of where your end-goal is. I've routed cables into the center console, sometimes I've found a convenient seam between panels to push it through (without having to drill), or on a few cars I would drill and add a gasket on the backside of a dash cubby, on one car I even ran it around the foam seal of an air vent.

Many ways to skin that cat and still keep it clean.

I left mine tucked behind center counsel and an extension to bring it out to the shifter area. I wanted the extra slot in the plug for a switch.

The photo above your initial comment shows a good depiction of the front area - it would be great to have it near all the center (temp) controls
