How many people here would buy a new land cruiser pickup over a new tacoma if it was an option?

I was looking at Toyota of the UAE website the other day and noticed you can get a LHD Land Cruiser pickup starting at what seems to be about $45000 usd. Its the good old 4.0 gas V6 and a 5 speed. I would have 100% gone this way over my 2022 tacoma. How many other people here would pick durability over style? https://www.toyota.ae/en/configure/?material=0&modelName=amuty0011-2022

I had to check my calendar to make sure I didn't miss 3 days. Thought it was Friday.

    Oh look, another mod....

I can see the need for one in certain parts of the world, and if I had a big ranch or a few 1000 acres, I'd buy one. It's a very capable truck. But for every day use? I can't get past the aesthetics. It looks like the 80's, 90's and early 2000's got together, had a baby and this is the end result. A mongoloid looking child.

IIRC, somebody on here had one imported from Dubai or the UAE within the past few months.

    I don’t think I’d make it as a submariner.

Anecdotal evidence based on smell is hardly scientific.

Let's not turn this into an emissions thread.

I'd take a 70 series over a Tacoma in a heart beat. I love the old styling.

I looked at the Australian website one time for these and I can't see why they are so popular there. The price was insane.

So if someone farts,... that must be acceptable as "fresh air" to you

Make it a diesel, and an extra cab…sold. Could I get a 40 series body tossed on it too?

I’ll run veg juice in it so all is right in the world… :D

I would absolutely have picked a 70 series LC over my Taco, but I bought the Taco primarily for outdoor stuff. With the LC 79, keep in mind you'll be fixing the rear track width before you get to suspension and other upgrades.
