FS: Waterproof Under Bed Rail LED lights - 3rd Gen

I’ve installed the hood and dual color bed lighting kit about a month ago. I just wanted to share where I’ve attached the ground wire in the rear without drilling any metal/frame. I had to replaced the ring terminal with a larger diameter to fit in that bolt. I also used about two packs of 14’ loom from HF on all the positive wire all the way to the battery and all the wires under the hood.

 

Compatible w/ tonneau covers, including the Diamondback covers?

 

The standard kit will fit most covers, a few retractable covers I make the light sets custom to fit.

Yes, compatible with Diamondback. Can also make a custom set with strips to go on the cover itself.

 

I have a diamondback and a MattGecko kit, they don't impact each other at all besides being a perfect pair for accessing the bed at night.

Matt, I have the under hood lights already. Planning to buy a Snugtop eventually and wondering if these stick to the carpet head liner forever or 15-20 years whichever comes first?

 

You will need to add the "hook" side of Velcro to the back of the camper lights.

Funny story. I bought one of these bed kits for my Tacoma in 2015 and never installed it. Thought I threw it out by accident. I recently moved and found it in a misc parts box in my garage. 7 years and 2 Tacomas later, it might actually get installed.

 

If and when you “might actually” install it…here’s where I grounded mine so you don’t have to use the self tapping screw on any metal parts. Just use a bigger ring terminal.

 

are there any kits that fit the retrax pro mx? plan on picking that up and definitely want some bed lights!

 

Fairly certain that if it has some kind of lip on the edges, the normal kit would fit just fine.

Is the cool 6500k really as blue as it comes out in the photos?
I don’t like any blue in my light. Wish there was an in between, 5000k.

 

There is a 5000k but its only available in a dual color (5000k pure white / red).

 

This is what mine look like. Dual color. The white didn’t look bluish at all. Get the dual color.
